File System Backup

We backup all websites nightly using a "file system backup" rather than an individual site by site backup. This style of backup is meant to protect our servers and customers from catastrophic failure, and is not meant to provide immediate recovery from user (developer) errors. We highly recommend one of our remote storage alternatives if you are actively developing or maintaining your website.

Acceptance

I understand that if a request is made to restore my website or email account from Earthclick's backup that (1) I may be charged up to $30 if requested M-F 8am to 3pm (except holidays) at the discretion of Earthclick.net, and that (2) off-hour restoration will be billed at our one-hour minimum rate (currently $125), and (3) restoration may not be available until the next business day. Website and Email restores due to equipment failure will not be billable.

Earthclick.net's WPVIVID + Cloud Storage

Earthclick.net supports the Wordpress plugin "WPVivid" which allows remote cloud storage, on-demand backups, regular (daily) backups, incremental backups, and much more. Using this option enables you to take snapshots of your website prior to updates or modification, and to restore your website at any time.

Defaults: Incremental backups: Full: Weekly; Incremental: Daily
Recommended: weekly full + hourly incrementals during heavy development, weekly + daily thereafter
Full backups: Weekly
Prices are for one set of 3 copies retention

Pricing:
Incremental backups every 12 hours or daily - $3.00/mo or $30.00/year
Incremental backups every hour to every 8 hours - $5.00/mo or $50.00/year
Full backups weekly or longer: $3.00/mo or $30/yr
Full backups daily or every 2 days: $5.00/mo or $50/yr
Full backups every 1 / 2 / 4 / 8 / 12 hours: $8.50/mo or $85.00/year

Encryption
You can optionally encrypt your backups with a password. However, if you forget/lose your password, your backups will be not be recoverable.

Acceptance

I understand that I am empowered to backup/restore my site at will; that assisted restores during business hours (8am - 5pm M-F excluding holidays) are free; that assisted off-hour restores will be billed for one half hour ($62.50); I also agree that I will be charged based on my selections and the schedule above. I can change my backup frequency at any time, but downgrades will not be prorated (e.g. downgrading from hourly incremental to daily incremental will take effect at your next billing cycle). Only one change per billing cycle is allowed.

User provided plugin and remote storage credentials

This option requires you to provide us with your plugin as well as credentials for your own remote storage provider. You will need to provide access to your plugin and your remote storage credentials under separate cover.

Acceptance

I understand that I will provide Earthclick.net with access to my own Wordpress Backup plugin as well as credentials and storage criteria before my website goes live. I also understand that there is a $25 one-time setup fee, and an additional charge of $2.50/mo or $25/year if the frequency of your backups is between 1 and 8 hours (bandwidth usage). Assistance during business hours (8am - 5pm M-F excluding holidays) will incur a $30 charge. Off-hour assistance will incur a minimum one hour ($125) charge.
